Episode 15: How coffee protects your Liver

How coffee protects your Liver

The liver is the only organ in the body that is able to completely remake itself, even when up to 75% of it has been removed, and it’s that self-healing power that makes it one of the most remarkable organs in the body. But there are limits. There are a multitude of things out there that can wreak havoc with your Liver. Everything from excess alcohol, hepatitis infections, weight gain and even toxins on peanuts! This theme is more important than you might initially imagine. Today we’ll be discussing how coffee, decaf included, protects your Liver. We also interview Agricultural specialist Yusuf Dramani in Ghana, on the important theme of aflatoxins, a type of invisible mould present on many crops and snacks like groundnuts in hot climates.
